Seventh of Nine (La Bricole Painting Competition)

Last week the voting ended on the La Bricole Painting competition. The official results can be seen here. Unfortunately my entry only got to the 7th place out of nine contenders. 😦 But at least it allowed my this exceptionally bad pun!

Anyway these were the top three entries (I just hope all the links to the pictures stay active):

1st place:

Greystreak’s Libavskii Russian Infantry Regiment (28mm Foundry Miniatures)

2nd place:

Lieutenant Hausmann’s Saxon Infantry Regiment (von Low’s) (18mm AB Miniatures)

3rd place:

John de Terre Neuve’s Prussian 6th Neumark Dragoons and 4th Kurmark Landwehr Cavalry (28mm Calpe Miniatures)

Congratulations to the top three and to all the others who took part! And a big thank you to those who voted for mine, too.

You were unlucky, Burkhard; your sailors of the guard were top notch!

You’ll have to make do borg-chick 7 of 9 instead!

Yes I agree, I am not sure why they did not place higher as I thought they were quite well painted. But do not fret you have had the opportunity of putting a photo of 7 of 9 on your blog, and she was one of the reasons I was a devoted watcher of Star Trek!

No worries. You do great work and you had the ambition and talent to get in the competition in the first place. Cheers!

Thank you for the nice comments guys!

I hope the post did not sound too dissapointed from my side. Most important was taking part and I really enjoyed the good friendly nature of the competition. Plus I got a unit finished that would have been a greater chore to do without the competition!
